What is Pharmacopoeial Sieves

Pharmacopoeial sieves (standard pharmacopoeial sieves) refers to the sieves used for pharmaceutical production according to the national uniform specifications stipulated in the Pharmacopoeia, and a set of 11 sieves including a cover chassis. The medicine sieve model is divided into No. 1-9 sieves, and the number of pharmacopoeia sieves ranges from 10 meshes to 200 meshes. It is used for classification, impurity removal and filtration of liquid, powder and granular medicines by traditional Chinese medicine, western medicine, preparation manufacturers or pharmacopoeia units.

How Pharmacopoeial Sieves Work

The material particles smaller than the sieve aperture are sieved to the lower sieve frame by the sieve frame that needs to detect the mesh number, the smaller particles pass through the holes of the sieve, and the larger particles are retained by the sieve.

Pharmacopoeial sieves can be used for manual sieving directly, or can be used with vibrating screen machines. The diameters are 200, 300, and 400 mm, and 9 layers can be installed. They are classified and used according to the mesh number and mesh.

Pharmacopoeial Sieves Application

Pharmacopoeia sieves are used for grading, sieving, filtration, and impurity removal of liquid, powder, and granular drugs by traditional Chinese medicine, western medicine, and preparation manufacturers or pharmacopoeia units.

Very coarse powder: refers to the powder that can pass through No. 1 sieve completely, but is mixed with no more than 20% of the powder that can pass through No. 3 sieve.

Coarse powder: refers to the powder that can pass through No. 2 sieve completely, but is mixed with no more than 40% of the powder that can pass through No. 4 sieve.

Medium powder: refers to the powder that can pass through the No. 4 sieve, but not more than 60% of the powder can pass through the No. 5 sieve.

Fine powder: refers to the powder that can pass through the No. 5 sieve and contains no less than 95% of the powder that can pass through the No. 6 sieve.

Finer powder: refers to the powder that can pass through the No. 6 sieve and contains no less than 95% of the powder that can pass through the No. 7 sieve.

Very fine powder: refers to the powder that can pass through the No. 8 sieve and contains no less than 95% of the powder that can pass through the No. 9 sieve.

A set of standard pharmacopoeia sieves stipulated by the state consists of 9 sieves with different mesh numbers, which are arranged into 9 serial numbers according to the inner diameter of the sieve hole from large to small, that is, the inner diameter of the sieve hole decreases from the No. 1 sieve, and the No. 9 sieve The inner diameter of the sieve hole is small, and the inspection particle size is fine.
